TomTom at IFA 2016: Innovation to Get People Going

Sep 1, 2016

IFA, Berlin, Germany, 1 September 2016 IFA kicked-off today with TomTom (TOM2) launching seven products, including two in entirely new categories. TomTom VIO is the world’s first navigation device designed specifically for scooters, and TomTom TOUCH, the world’s first fitness tracker that combines body composition analysis with steps, sleep and all day heart-rate tracking, right from the wrist.*

The company also revealed its first TomTom GO satnav with built-in Wi-Fi® to get rid of the need to connect to a PC for map and software updates, as well as Siri and Google Now™ integration, so you can keep your eyes on the road and not on your phone. TomTom also announced the TomTom CURFER, a performance tracker for your car. TomTom Sports additionally launched three GPS watch ranges, TomTom ADVENTURER, TomTom SPARK 3, and TomTom RUNNER 3 – which build on TomTom’s heritage in navigation and mapping to bring route exploration to your wrist.

Speaking at the launch, Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director, TomTom Consumer, said: “In 2004, we changed people’s lives by creating the satnav for cars, and in doing so, created a brand new category. Today, we’re doing it again with the launch of TomTom VIO – the first smartphone-connected navigation for scooters, and TomTom TOUCH – our first fitness tracker with built-in body composition analysis. We continue to build on our heritage as an innovator, creating technology that keeps you moving and keeps you safer, helping everybody in their busy lives.”
