Gent, Belgium, 17 March 2010 Tele Atlas, the world leader in high quality digital maps and dynamic content, today unveiled expanded coverage of Ukraine, which includes coverage of the country’s complete major and interconnecting road networks encompassing more than 250,000 kilometers of roadways. The release extends the company’s European maps, which cover 44 countries and more than 10.6 million kilometers, and marks the company’s first navigable map of the Ukraine.

The new map includes navigable street network coverage for turn-by-turn and location-based applications and covers nearly 40 percent of the country’s population. It also features street level coverage in 46 major cities across the country, including Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kiev, Lviv and Odessa, as well as all regional centers. The Ukraine map offers users an enriched navigation experience with map information and content to find more than 47,000 points of interest (POIs) such as hotels, restaurants, shops, petrol stations, pharmacies and hospitals, including nearly 30,000 settlement centers.
